Stunning album by master musicians who never received the acclaim they deserved
Words fail to describe this, Gentle Giant's most magnificent album, originally released in 1975, when progressive rock ruled supreme.
best prog rock band ever
Nice redo of the original CD to celebrate the 35th anniversary, have heard both good and bad about the quality, but as a collector of GG, you have to have this regardless.
where's the gentle touch?
Free Hand is another example of Gentle Giant providing more entertainment than a barrel full of monkeys.
a worthy remaster
A fresh sound for one of the most refreshing music the 70s ever produced.
Gentle,gentle Giant
This is good, but seems a little too laid back, some of their other works seem more interesting to me..
On Reflection
Gentle Giant is an ecclectic mix of prog and medieval that is unique and delightful.
Excellent
These guys still rock.
Complex, quirky, original and really, really good!
As my name implies: I was buying vinyl albums when Gentle Giant was having their heyday.
Contrapuntal, dense and the last of its kind
This 1975 album has been referred to by musicologist John Covach as the most contrapuntal album in all of progressive rock.
All agree Free Hand is where to start.....
In reading the other reviews I must agree that this album is the place to start if you want to get to know GG.
