Five Stars
I was very sad when the series ended.
Patrick o Brian and his creations; Aubrey and Maturin will and are sorely missed
All 21 novels are a feast for the mind and the senses, the humor is understated, the roller coaster of emotions evoke a poignant response as we the reader are drawn into this time and period.
disappointment
Most of O'Brian,s books deserve a 4 or 5 star rating as the fine stories that they are.
A must for any true O'Brian fan
If, like me you have read, then reread and again reread the Aubrey/Maturin series and wished that the tale could have been brought to the conclusion that only O'Brian could have provided then this book will probably be in some ways a disappointment.
Loved it
Of course, only an O'Brian fanatic would buy an unfinished novel.
What a letdown!
Having read all patrick Obrians other books I was looking forward to the final one with a degree of pleasant anticipation-- only to have my whole experience of this wonderful author somewhat soured by the content.
Disappointed
The first part of the book builds the expectation of a fitting conclusion to this marvelous series thus making the last part, which defied reading on my Kindle, such a disappointment.
Very, very small amount of material
Publisher should warn buyers that this is about 5% of average book by O'Brian.
